With a toddler tagging along, trust me, you want to go to a place where there is lots to engage their hyper active brain. And, Dubai fits the bills perfectly. The other destinations on my mind were Singapore, HongKong and Australia but it was Dubai that made it to the final choice.
Firstly, Delhi to Dubai flight is not only a short run (just 3 hrs 25 mins) but also due to frequent flights one gets to choose convenient flight timing. A factor that is extremely crucial when you are travelling with a naughty toddler. I prefer late evening when we are past the chasing for food. So, I can sit back and enjoy the flight.
Engaging For Kids
Dubai is one place where it is all about kids. There is no dearth of options so much so that even we can reconnect with our inner child. Enjoying the dolphin show, falling on ice ring, getting awed at underwater aquarium, clicking selfie with cartoon characters in Disneyland – it is simply wonderful for a family vacation.
Some of the places that I really want to see in Dubai are:
1. Wild Wadi Water park
Water is welcome anytime and if the water park is so huge then all the more. Splash, jump and go crazy that is our plan.
2. KidZania
Kidzania is fun mixed with learning and, as a mom I am happy to take AB to this place in particular. It is a city full of opportunities. Seeing my little AB donning professional hats is going to make me, awww, for sure.
3. Sega republic
Two floors of theme park rides and aracade games, the father and son duo are never going to come out of this place. Maybe, I will go shopping while the father and son bond, man to man.
4. Aquarium and Underwater Zoo
This is something that we don’t have in India so it is going to the biggest attraction of our Dubai trip.
5. Dubai Ice Rink
Fall, slip, get up, and fall again, slip again and get up again. I am going to ice rink just to laugh when we fall. When we fall together as a family, we bond – not any famous man but I said so J
6. Dubai Fountains
It is spectacular show with Dubai’s tallest building in the backdrop. This crystal clear, super high fountain is sure to awe my little son who is already a water baby.
7. Dolphin Bay
We went to chilka lake near Puri, Orissa in search of Dolphins whom we only saw just for a flash of second that too after a tiring boat rode of 3 hours. Little AB was already asleep and I had a splitting headache due to loud noise of motor of the boat. Here in Dubai we can see dolphins up and close and, for as long as we want. We can even pat them. I am excited. This is gonna be our selfie moment.
8. Ski in Dubai
Snow in Desert, like for real? Absolutely unbelievable. If not for anything else but to see this miracle of science with my own eyes, I will go for skiing in Dubai.
9. Picnic In the Desert
I am a big fan of picnics and have fond memories of childhood when the whole family would pack up food and spend the entire day playing games and laughing. I want to relieve my childhood fun and then Dubai has planned picnic in the middle of desert. You can also stay overnight in the desert camp. Little AB is going to enjoy it so much. He loves playing in sand and so much sand around is going to bewilder him.
10. Flamingos in Ras Al Khor
Actually, even I have never seen a flamingo in my entire life. I have read about them and see them on national Geographic. In Dubai, I can see this rare bird species in its full strength and this is quite exciting for me as well as my son.
Just book a hotel and a cab, and go crazy in this country. Dubai is the safest place in the world. So, no worries! Just go crazy. This is going to be our ideal yatra. Where are you going this summer vacation?
